Curtains Up, the Pine Tree Camp Theater Dixie and Jedi Built

TLDR: “Curtains Up! Theatre for Extraordinary Campers” is Season 10, Episode 6 of Maine Cabin Masters, and it aired on February 3, 2025. Matt “Dixie” Dix and Jared “Jedi” Baker led the renovation of a recreation hall and theater at Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine, while the rest of the crew was filming in Italy.

Most Maine Cabin Masters builds end with a lakeside camp and a family holding the keys.

This one ended with a stage.

The Camp and the Space They Were Handed

Pine Tree Camp sits on North Pond in Rome, Maine, and it is a program of the Pine Tree Society. The camp serves children and adults with disabilities, and in 2025 it marked its 80th anniversary, according to the Pine Tree Society.

Before the renovation, the theater was a garage style space with a shallow stage. In winter it held kayaks, canoes and golf carts, according to Adria King of the Pine Tree Society, as quoted by the Bangor Daily News.

How the Cabin Masters Got Involved

The crew had raised money for the camp for several years before the build. According to King, the connection started with a friend of a camp employee’s brother.

The camp was invited to apply for the show and was selected in the spring of 2024.

Who Paid and How Long It Took

The project was largely funded by a grant from the Prescott Family, according to the camp. Construction began in June 2024 and finished by September, when the crew filmed the reveal.

Dixie and Jedi Take the Lead

While Chase, Ashley and Ryan were overseas for the Italy project, Dixie and Jedi ran the Pine Tree build. TV Guide describes the episode as the two of them taking center stage.

Campers appear in the episode and made an art project with the crew, according to camp director Dawn Willard-Robinson. She said she could picture her campers in the new space, and that seeing it was overwhelming.

The Episode That Aired Two Days After Ginna’s Death

“Curtains Up!” premiered on Monday, February 3, 2025. Dixie’s wife, Ginna Dix, had died two days earlier.

The build itself had wrapped months before, so nothing in the footage reflects what was happening in his life that week. Anyone who knows the timing may watch it differently, and our Dixie profile tells the rest of that story.

What the Build Left Behind

The camp now has a proper theater where it used to have a storage space with a shallow stage. That is the part campers will notice.
