TLDR: Homestead Rescue: Intervention premiered on Discovery Channel on July 14, 2026, with Marty Raney, Matt Raney and Misty Bilodeau. Relatives and friends call the Raneys in to rescue homesteaders who will not ask for help themselves. Checked October 26, 2026.
In the original Homestead Rescue, a family asks for help. In Homestead Rescue: Intervention, someone who loves the family makes the call, and the homesteaders learn about it when the Raneys arrive.
Here is what the spinoff is, who is in it, which episodes we could confirm and where to watch.
What the Spinoff Is
Discovery Channel premiered the series on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, according to the Warner Bros. Discovery press release. TV Insider names All3Media as the production company.
The original show began in 2016 and, per TV Insider, has run 14 seasons. Homestead Rescue: Raney Ranch followed in 2020 for two seasons, and this is the third branch of the franchise.
Marty, Misty and Matt on the Job
Marty Raney and his children, Matt and Misty, lead every rescue. The press release credits the three with building, farming and hunting expertise but does not divide the work by person.
Each has a profile on this site, Matt Raney and Misty Raney Bilodeau. The wider franchise is covered in our Homestead Rescue cast guide.
How the Format Differs
The press release describes homesteaders who are struggling but too proud to ask for help. TV Insider puts it more bluntly, saying the show targets people who have not requested assistance, so the intervention is effectively forced.
That also separates it from Raney Ranch, where the Raneys worked on their own property. For a look back at when the Raneys had to rescue their own homestead, see our Raney Ranch guide.
If you wonder how much is staged, we explain how a Homestead Rescue production actually works for the original series. We have not found a source that describes how the spinoff is produced.
The same goes for money, since who pays for the materials and construction on the original show is covered separately. No source we found says whether the spinoff works the same way.
Who Asked for Help
Every official description starts with a worried outsider. In the Alaska premiere, an uncle asks for help for his niece’s family, Jon and Leighann, who are living in tents beside a mold-infested cabin as winter approaches.
In Montana, a homesteader the Raneys rescued earlier asks them to help another family that lacks basic infrastructure. In North Carolina, a mother and sister worry about a 34-year-old off-gridder who is learning survival techniques from online videos.
The release also describes a Vermont wife at her breaking point with a husband who sees extreme hardship as his dream. We kept the family names out of everything except the Alaska premiere, because the release names only Jon and Leighann.
Season One Episode Guide
Discovery’s show page lists six season one titles with one-line descriptions and no air dates. The release adds New Mexico and Vermont as locations, but we could not match them to a title.
| Episode | Setting | Discovery’s description |
|---|---|---|
| Alaska Winter-vention | Alaska | The Raneys step in with an Alaskan family as bears and winter approach. |
| A Homestead Divided | Arizona (per Discovery) | A wife reaches her breaking point as her husband’s homestead plans spiral. |
| Wylde Mountain Reckoning | Montana | The Raneys confront a family before winter arrives. |
| Bee Stings and Better Days | Not stated | Parents seek help for their son, who has severe Lyme disease. |
| Harsh Reality | Arizona | The Raneys face a family that is faking self-sufficiency for social media, in Discovery’s words. |
| North Carolina DIY or Die | North Carolina | A lone homesteader struggles to survive on off-grid skills learned online. |
The press release places the breaking-point wife in Vermont, while Discovery’s page lists a similar episode under Arizona. We have kept both and cannot say which is right.
The episode count is also unsettled. Discovery lists six titles, Tom’s Guide says eight episodes, and Hulu’s listing showed fewer than either when we looked.
Where to Watch
In the United States the show airs on Discovery Channel. Tom’s Guide says Discovery+ adds episodes a day after each weekly airing and that HBO Max carries Discovery content, and Hulu has a series page.
In Canada, Tom’s Guide lists CityTV+, with no release plan for the United Kingdom and no confirmed date for Australia. We checked all of this on October 26, 2026, and streaming rights shift often.
Renewal and Open Questions
We found no announcement of a second season or a cancellation. Only season one appears on Discovery’s page.
We also found no ratings figures, no confirmed episode count and no detail on how families were chosen or what happened to them after filming. We will update this page when a network source answers those.
Homestead Rescue Intervention Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to watch the original Homestead Rescue first?
Nothing in the official descriptions suggests so. Each episode introduces a new family and a new problem, so you can start anywhere.
Who produces the spinoff?
TV Insider names All3Media as the production company, and the press release says it comes from the producers of the original series.
Is this the same as Raney Ranch?
No. Raney Ranch followed the Raneys on their own property, and Intervention sends them to other people’s homesteads.
Has season two been announced?
We found no announcement as of October 26, 2026.
