TLDR: Two members of the Harrison family tied to Pawn Stars have died. Richard “The Old Man” Harrison, Rick’s father, died on June 25, 2018, at age 77, and Rick’s son Adam died in January 2024 at age 39. No report we found says that Rick, Corey or Chumlee has died.
Search results for “who died on Pawn Stars” tend to blur two very different losses together.
Both are in Rick Harrison’s family, and neither involves the three men on the poster.
Richard “The Old Man” Harrison
Richard Harrison, the gruff patriarch viewers knew as the Old Man, died on June 25, 2018, at age 77. Looper reported that the cause was Parkinson’s disease.
His full story, including what he was worth, is in our profile of the Old Man.
Adam Harrison, Rick’s Son
Adam Harrison, one of Rick’s sons, died in January 2024 at age 39. The news broke on January 19 and 20, and the Associated Press reported that he died in Las Vegas.
Adam was not one of the show’s stars.
The family put out a short statement that read, “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss.”
Rick posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram with the words “You will always be in my heart” and “I love you Adam.”
A family representative told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the death was believed to be from an overdose, according to a Gray News report carried by WLOX. That report did not cite a coroner or police finding, so we treat the cause as reported and not confirmed.
The Main Cast Is Not Among Them
Rick Harrison, his son Corey (“Big Hoss”) and Austin “Chumlee” Russell are the three faces of Pawn Stars, and no report we found says any of them has died.
You can see where each stands now in our Pawn Stars cast update, or read about what Corey is doing and what Rick is worth.
Reality TV death hoaxes recycle every few months, so check the date and the outlet before you share one. Our roundups for Deadliest Catch, Maine Cabin Masters and Street Outlaws follow the same rule.
