Ever wondered what it’s like to step into the world of Maine Cabin Masters? At Kennebec Cabin Company in Manchester, Maine, fans can do just that.
Tucked along Western Avenue in this small Kennebec County town of just over 2,500 residents, the headquarters serves as both the operational heart of the hit Magnolia Network show and a genuine destination where fans from across the country, and around the world, make pilgrimages to experience a piece of Maine’s most beloved renovation show.
The story behind the building itself reads like one of the show’s own episodes. In 2019, Chase Morrill was driving by when he saw the “For Sale” sign on what would become their new home base. The property belonged to the Daggett family, whose historic cabin was featured in the very first episode of Maine Cabin Masters back in 2017.
The homestead was originally built in the 1850s on the site of an old tavern and you can still see the old hitching post out front. For 60 years, locals fondly remembered the Daggett family’s general store across the street before Chase and the team transformed the aging farmhouse into something entirely new.
True to their craft, Chase, Ryan, and Ashley put their creative talents to work on the renovation. They created an open concept space with raised ceilings and shiplap walls, ideal for displaying Maine made items and Cabin Master swag.
The retail store opened its doors in February 2020, just before the pandemic shuttered much of the country. Undeterred, the team pivoted to open the restaurant portion of their project, The Woodshed, that same summer.
What You’ll Find Inside the Store
Step through those doors and you’re entering a curated collection of everything that makes Maine special.
The retail space stocks Maine Cabin Masters logo merchandise, hats, shirts, and specialty items adorned with the show’s various designs, alongside an impressive selection of New England art, crafts, and tools, all handpicked by the team themselves.
One of the store’s most distinctive features captures the Cabin Masters’ signature repurposing ethos: a rack made of a canoe cut in half displaying merchandise alongside coffee mugs, key chains, and pillows bearing the show’s branding. It’s these thoughtful touches, the kind of creative reuse the show celebrates weekly, that make browsing the store feel like walking through one of their completed projects.
Ashley Morrill’s influence is particularly obvious throughout the shop. Her new venture, Rustic County, represents a personal evolution from the custom pillows and décor she creates for cabin owners on the show. “After years of designing with ‘Maine Cabin Masters,’ I wanted to create something that is 100% from me,” Ashley Morrill said.
The Maine-themed and floral designs available at Kennebec Cabin Company offer fans a chance to bring home pieces that reflect Ashley’s aesthetic vision. The women-run company includes a small team supporting Ashley’s designs, and the products frequently appear in new episodes, creating an ongoing connection between the show and the retail experience.
Beyond branded merchandise and Rustic County items, the store features work from Maine-based artisans: pottery, candles, ornaments, coastal-themed bowls, and seasonal offerings that rotate throughout the year. There’s even a selection of quality tools, ensuring that DIY enthusiasts can pick up something practical alongside their souvenirs.
The Woodshed: Where Fans Become Friends
Head around back and you’ll discover The Woodshed, the bar and restaurant that has become one of Central Maine’s favorite gathering spots since opening in summer 2020. This was Ryan Eldridge’s dream project: after years working in the restaurant industry before his Maine Cabin Masters days, he’d always wanted to own his own establishment. Today, it serves as both a destination for fans traveling from afar and a genuine community hub for locals.
The Woodshed doesn’t have a liquor license, but does have nine $8 Maine microbrews on tap, including aptly named options like Baxter’s Woodshed IPA and Cushnoc’s Behind the Woodshed Pilsner. Wine by the glass and non-alcoholic options round out the beverage menu, all served with the casual, unpretentious vibe that defines the Maine Cabin Masters brand.
The food offerings reflect the same commitment to local sourcing and Maine authenticity. Serving local made soups, salads and sandwiches as well as a full menu of burgers and more from our food truck, The Woodshed balances comfort food with surprising variety.
The menu includes lobster rolls, burgers, tacos, poutine, and a “Mini Masters” section for kids. Health-conscious diners will find fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, salads, and wraps alongside the heartier fare. During the warmer months from June through October, an outdoor food truck expands the offerings even further.
What truly sets The Woodshed apart is its “Rock the Dock” live music series, performed on a stage built—you guessed it—from reclaimed docks. From Memorial Day weekend through mid-October, the venue hosts live music and events at least four days a week.
The Woodshed has indoor and outdoor seating hosting weekly events such as Trivia with the Androscoggin Trivia Company on Tuesdays, Bingo Night on Wednesdays, and Karaoke Night on Thursdays. The spacious wooden stage overlooks a grassy area perfect for families, cornhole tournaments, and the monthly drum circles that have become local favorites.
Perhaps the most coveted events are the seasonal lobster bakes with the Maine Cabin Masters themselves. These intimate gatherings, limited to 300 attendees, offer fans the chance to enjoy an authentic Maine lobster dinner, live music, photos, and autograph sessions with Chase, Ashley, Ryan, and the rest of the crew. Tickets typically sell out months in advance, so checking the events calendar early is essential for anyone hoping to snag a spot.
Planning Your Visit
The headquarters sits at 915 Western Ave in Manchester, just west of Augusta on Route 202, making it an easy addition to any Maine itinerary.
The store is open seven days a week year-round, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays. The Woodshed (located at 911 Western Ave) maintains similar hours, though it’s closed Mondays during winter months.
Visitors from as far as Ohio, Illinois, and beyond have made the journey specifically to experience the headquarters. The parking lot regularly features a mix of out-of-state plates and local vehicles, a testament to The Woodshed’s success as both a tourist destination and genuine community gathering place. Fans should note that the property is more compact than it might appear on television, the busy Route 202 location has surprised some visitors, but this intimacy only adds to the charm.
“Manchester is a small town, but (it has) good restaurants and locations to relax,” she said. Local business owners have felt the impact firsthand, with gallery owner Alan Claude noting that the show has been a blessing, affecting the town in positive ways with enthusiastic, like-minded fans visiting local establishments.
Summer and early fall offer the fullest experience, with the outdoor seating, food truck, live music, and special events all in full swing. However, the venue remains open year-round, and there’s something appealing about experiencing the cozy indoor space during Maine’s quieter seasons. Leashed dogs are welcome, making it a family-friendly destination in the truest sense.
For those hoping to meet the cast, timing and a bit of luck help. When visiting the Kennebec Cabin Company and The Woodshed, you might spot Chase, Ryan, Ashley, and other crew members working on site or swinging by on their way home. The team also occasionally hosts meet-and-greet events, particularly during new Rustic County product launches.
The best approach is to check the events calendar on the Kennebec Cabin Company website before your visit and sign up for the newsletter to catch announcements about upcoming lobster bakes and special appearances.
The Kennebec Cabin Company and The Woodshed represent more than just a gift shop and restaurant—they’re physical manifestations of what makes Maine Cabin Masters resonate with audiences. The repurposed materials, the locally sourced offerings, the genuine community connections, and the unpretentious hospitality all reflect the values Chase, Ashley, Ryan, and the crew champion on every episode.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan planning a Maine road trip or a curious local wondering what the fuss is about, a visit offers a chance to experience the show’s spirit firsthand, one lobster roll and local microbrew at a time.
