What Happened in December 2025
On December 3, 2025, Danielle Colby posted an Instagram video saying, “I just found out that American Pickers is done.” She added that without the show’s financial support, “it’s going to be a wild one.”

What History Said
A History representative told TV Insider that the show was still airing premieres into 2026. The rep also said, “We aren’t producing new episodes right now,” but that production could resume in early 2026.
Another network representative told Parade there was “no truth” to Colby’s statements. In January 2026, a History spokesperson repeated that the show had not been canceled and said new episodes were not in production because the network already had a completed season.
The Hiatus Came First
In September 2025, Parade reported that Wolfe and Colby were on the first filming break in the show’s 15 years. Wolfe said they would likely have “at least four or five months off.”
That same report said no premiere date or renewal for Season 28 had been announced. Wolfe’s spinoff, History’s Greatest Picks, had been announced in March 2025, and production began in fall 2025.
The Show Came Back in February 2026
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported on February 13, 2026, that Season 27 would return with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, February 15. Wolfe explained that the network had a number of brand-new shows sitting ready and wanted to air them before picking the series back up.
