Christina Haack’s Three Marriages: What Went Wrong Each Time

Christina Haack was born on July 9, 1983, in Anaheim, California. She has a younger sister named Carly. After graduating from college in Southern California, she began working as a real estate agent. That career path led directly to her first marriage.

Marriage One: Tarek El Moussa

Christina met Tarek El Moussa while both were working as real estate agents in Orange County. They married and built a real estate business together. When the housing market collapsed in 2008, both of their incomes took a serious hit.

The couple pivoted to television. Tarek submitted an audition tape to HGTV, and in 2013 they became co-stars of Flip or Flop, a house renovation show centered on their work buying, renovating, and reselling properties in Southern California.

That same year, a viewer watching the show noticed a bump on Tarek’s neck and contacted the production. He was subsequently diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Their relationship began absorbing the strain of treatment, recovery, and continued filming simultaneously.

In 2017, Tarek disclosed that he had also been diagnosed with testicular cancer shortly after his thyroid diagnosis. The couple had been attempting to have more children during this period.

Christina became pregnant through IVF but suffered a miscarriage at eight weeks, which she attributed in part to stress.

A widely reported incident in 2016 involved police being called to their home after an alleged dispute. Tarek later clarified that he had left the house to go hiking in an area with mountain lions and that the incident had been significantly exaggerated by media coverage.

The couple attempted therapy. Tarek later told People: “We were so busy, we never slowed down to be present with each other and talk about things that were bothering us.”

They separated in May 2016 and their divorce was finalized in January 2018. They share two children: Taylor, born 2010, and Brayden, born 2015.

Despite the divorce, they continued filming Flip or Flop together until the show ended. Tarek subsequently married luxury real estate agent Heather Rae El Moussa in 2021. Marriage Two: Ant Anstead

Christina began dating British television presenter Ant Anstead in 2017. Anstead is best known in the US as a co-host of Wheeler Dealers on the MotorTrend network. The couple married in December 2018 in a surprise winter ceremony at their Newport Beach home.

They welcomed a son, Hudson London Anstead, in September 2019. The following year, in September 2020, Christina announced their separation on Instagram. The post read: “Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate.”

Sources close to the couple told People that Christina had felt lonely and unhappy after Hudson’s birth, struggling to balance the demands of her television career with her personal life. The divorce was finalized in 2021.

Christina later reflected publicly on the period. “I’m messy, I’m real and I’m working on healing,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m surrounded by extremely powerful women who help me cope, build me up and push me to be better.” Her HGTV spinoff Christina on the Coast, which had launched after her first divorce, continued to document her life through the transition.

Marriage Three: Joshua Hall

Christina married real estate agent Joshua Hall in April 2022, roughly a year after they began dating. Hall was incorporated into her professional life quickly, joining her on her HGTV show and appearing regularly on her social media.

The couple had been set to compete together on The Flip Off, HGTV’s real estate competition pitting them against Tarek and Heather El Moussa.

In July 2024, Christina and Joshua separated. Hall was cut from The Flip Off production entirely. Christina competed solo, and the divorce became part of the show’s Season 1 narrative. Their divorce was finalized in May 2025.

Following her third divorce, Christina has been deliberate about her approach to relationships. She began dating corporate executive Chris LaRocca in October 2024. He is the CEO of Network Connex, based in Orange County, and has no background in reality television.

She has described him publicly as “very supportive” and “easy to be around.” She has said marriage is “not on her radar” and that she would require an engagement period of at least five years before considering it again.

She has also launched a champagne brand, Clé Cachée, and continues as executive producer on The Flip Off Season 2.
